kELLY MARTIN

"Leadership Lessons From Columbine and Beyond"

Kelly Martin is a nationally engaged school-safety leader with nearly two decades of law enforcement experience and close to a decade dedicated to Kโ€“12 security. A former Sheriff’s Office Lieutenantย  and now Executive Director of School Safety & Security for Seminole County Public Schools, Kelly has built district-wide programs that integrate prevention, protection, and recovery, uniting threat management, campus hardening, technology modernization, and culture change.
A systems thinker, Kelly has led capital projects in physical security and safety technology, developed district threatโ€‘management teams, and designed reunification and postโ€‘incident recovery frameworks. Her researchโ€‘minded approach and ability to interpret complex systems strengthen her work in assessing risks and building sustainable safety programs.

GUY BLIESNER

"Active Safety in Schools & Beyond"

Guy Bliesner is a nationally recognized school safety leader with over 30 years of experience in education and security. Guy began his career as a high school teacher and coach before transitioning to the School Safety & Security Coordinator for Bonneville School District. He is currently the School Safety & Security Analyst assigned to Southeast Idaho Schools.

A founding member of Idahoโ€™s Office of School Safety and Security, he has led statewide safety assessments and serves in leadership roles with several national school safety organizations. He writes and speaks nationally on school safety, standards, and best practices. Guy is also the inaugural 2025 Emily Parker National School Safety Leadership honoree.
